The DLP® Discovery™ 4100 developer's kit revolutionized the spatial light modulator market with unprecedented speed, control, broad spectral reflectivity and high power tolerances. The D4100 is a bi-stable (+/- 12 degrees) MEMS device and is capable of over 32,000 binary frames per second due to its 400MHZ 2xLVDS clock. Control, at the pixel level, is provided through a standard USB 2.0 interface but can be expanded to utilize the full potential of the Xilinx Virtex 5 FPGA through the Avnet EXP expansion connectors.  Based on its aluminum mirror structure, the D4100 provides high reflectivity throughout the UV-SWIR spectrum. The package design of the D4100 DMD's (digital micromirror devices) allow for continuous heat dissipation at high incident power levels and ease of mounting heat sinks to help with this activity. Optical power limits for the DMD's are based on operating within a recommended temperature range and follow the ablation curves of aluminum.

The D4100 is available in three convenient sizes to address most budget constraints. Both the 0.55" and 0.7" (diagonal measurement) D4100 kits offer XGA resolution in a 1024x768 array. The 0.95" 1080p kit boasts a 1920x1080 pixel array. All kits operate in the visible range, while the 0.7" and 0.95" kits are also available for UV operation. The 0.7" kit is the only D4100 kit that can be optimized for NIR transmission.

The D4100 kits are ideal solutions for industries such as maskless lithography, microscopy, high speed display, spectroscopy, and structured lighting. Contact Wintech Digital for more information.
