NEW: 3D Printing and 3D Measurement SDK's included with PRO4500 purchase!
Modular Production Ready Optical Engine for 3D Printing and Structured Light Measurement Application
Exactly what the DLP® industrial projection markets requested- a high brightness low cost production ready light engine. The PRO4500, based on Texas Instruments' DLP4500 chipset, provides users with modular performance at an unprecedented price point. The PRO4500's modularity allows for quick low cost modifications to key engine parameters such as the projection lens, LED, and DMD, providing a modifiable alternative to the LightCrafter 4500. Measuring only 210x84x54mm, the PRO4500 was designed to meet the tight form factor constraints often required by 3D Printing and 3D Measurement markets.
The PRO4500 will accept various Luminus Devices LEDs including the CBT-39, PT-39, PT-40, and also RGB. An all glass 0% offset optical architecture was chosen and optical coatings are optimized for 381-650nm. Wintech extended the length of the projection lens barrel for easy field swapping of numerous projection lenses without the need for specialty tools. Thermal management is provided by heat sinking and a fan, however liquid cooling adaptations are available. A wide range of projection lenses are currently available and custom lenses can be designed and fabricated in less than three months.
The PRO4500 utilizes the DLP® LightCrafter 4500 firmware and software, so any code developed previously on the LightCrafter 4500 can be easily ported to the PRO4500. The PRO4500 also shares the same DLPC350 DMD driver with the LightCrafter 4500, so performance and control are identical. The PRO4500 will allow for 2,880Hz binary streaming frames per second and 120Hz 8-bit grayscale streaming frames per second over mini-HDMI. Predetermined patterns stored in the 32MB onboard memory provide up to 4,255Hz binary and 120Hz 8-bit grayscale frames per second.
The PRO4500 multi-PCB stack was also designed with modularity as the top priority and is functionally equivalent to the LightCrafter 4500 control electronics. All system critical components are located on the DMD driver PCB, allowing for low cost electronics modifications to the LED driver PCB. The multi-PCB stack provides a mini-HDMI connection for data transfer, a USB connection for system control, and an I2C interface for LED control. Two camera input and two camera output triggers are included in the multi-PCB stack. Compatibility with the PandaBoard platform is provided by the Wintech NSP4500 interface board which also includes code to stream images over Ethernet.
